And because not as much breath control is required, and no special mouthing techniques have to be mastered as with the other woodwinds, your child can produce a sound much more easily. The clarinet has my second vote but the saxophone is definitely first! If the instruments in this picture were to scale you could really see an even bigger difference between the different sizes - from the soprano to the baritone. You don’t have that really nasally, wheezy top-end.
