Port Hedland
Les Walkling

I'm not in the Pilbara in the way that botanists are, collecting and identifying the flora of the region, because I am collecting things that can't be seen, despite my pictures. I am collecting evidence of my uncertainty and my interaction, my responses and wondering. I would hope to make images that acknowledge this struggle, and what ever else is possible or unlikely. What can I do with such realisations, and how might they mirror or mimic a more general theory of white Australia, and the fantasies I impose, and the paving I import, and the gate-keeping that I protect?
